We are Luigi e Valeria, we live in Italy (Avellino)  with  our 2 sons: Daniele and Mirko. I met Luigi, my husband, playing electric guitar: for many years he was my Blues-Guitar teacher. Luigi is even my idolo:  he is an excellent guitar player but…… more than dogs he loved cats!
I was born and grown up in Dortmund, from a German mother and a Neapolitan father and have lived in Germany great part of my life.
I have always  loved dogs, I have had my first dog when I was approximately 12 years old and will be always grateful to my Grandmother Gertrud who has transmitted the immense love for all the animals to me and above all the passion for sighthounds.

I remember very well my first "meeting" with an Italian Greyhound: My Grandmother gave me a book with a description and a lot of photos of all sighthound breeds and when I saw for the first time an IG I remained so fascinated for that image which has accompanied me during all my youth.

What a pity  that my parents did not share my point of view, indeed, those “ugly dogs“ at  the end were only appealed by me.
Fortunately young ladies will grow up sooner or later, so I got my first Sighthound: she was a cross between a Whippet and a Dalmatian and when she looked at me with her black eyes I fell in love from the first moment.

In 2001 I read about the tragedy of the ex-racing Greyhounds. Determined I adopted Bolero, a big  black and white Greyhound, he was 11 years old. I was so happy to give  him a loving family and I will always remember him. Bolero died in my arms after an illness  and still today I miss him terribly.
I will say “ thank you”  to Arnaldo and Annalisa of the Whippet Kennel "Sobresalto", very special people, who gave me one of their dogs, Justin, a  9 years old Whippet who finally made me smile again. Justin became an important part of my life.
After the mysterious passing of Justin thus I was so in pain that I didn't want any sighthound in my house.

In the meantime, I went to live with Luigi and so Luigi discovers that our house was full of the ghosts of Justin and Bolero and even my old Cindy whose photos were scattered for all over  the house.

And that’s why Luigi decided to have  little grey-blue coloured puppy .....
And that’s how we discovered the world of IG’s and we got fascinated... And who ever had a sighthound already knows the end (or beginning) of this story: you never get enough of them and some day you wake up early in the morning and decide to dedicate a whole Web Site and all your life to them!
